Homemade Pickle Recipes * Happy Hot Dog Day !
32 oz jar sour pickle
11/2 C brown sugar
2 t mustard seeds
2 t celery seeds
Drain Pickles - cut pickles crosswise or dice up into small pieces.
Place about 1/4 of the pickles back in the jar and fill with sugar mixture. Repeat until full . Reseal and place in refrigerator. Let Set for 3 days while turning daily so sugar mixes.
4 quarts Cucumbers thinly sliced
6 medium Onion / Sliced
2 green pepper / chopped
3 cloves of garlic
1/3 C Salt
5 C Sugar
3 C cider Vinegar
11/2 t tumerick
11/2 t celery seeds
2 T mustard seeds
* You can add hot peppers if you would like a little kick.
In a pot place cucumbers ,onions,pepper and garlic -add salt and Ice. Stir and let Sit 3 hours. Drain cucumbers - and place in Jars , Mix the rest of ingredients and Pour over Cucumber - leave a little room on top - Seal with lids . Heat jars and Process as usual.
